The dry white wine from Tokaj is relatively new and is often made from the furmint grape. This wine is delicious fresh with beautiful aromas and notes of apple. Because Tokaj has been known for its unique terroir for hundreds of years, most of the wineries are now in foreign hands. They know the value of the region and were able to buy these vineyards after the fall of communism in 1989. The resemblance with the top wineries in Bordeaux is imminent. Here, too, Chinese people buy the Tokaji en masse, although they are most likely to fall on the dessert wines. The dry white wine from Tokaj is minerally and is made both with and without wood aging. Especially the single Vineyard wines such as the Grof Degenfeld Terezia and the Zomborka are jewels from Hungarian soil. Besides the Furmint, the Harslevelu and Muscat are the most used grapes in Tokaj.
